Rudolph ...

Good evening ... it is back to work for me tomorrow ... I'm not particularly looking forward to it but I've got to fund my crafting somehow!!  So today I spent a little time creating ... I'm on my annual mission of trying to find a Christmas card design that I like enough to make more than one of ... this is my first try:

A simple design, easily executed especially with a Misti ,,, two stamps and one enamel dot!  I'm not sure about it but it could be useful as a stand-by design if I don't manage to come up with something better!

I'm going to enter into the following challenge:

"Less is More" #379

Black, white and teal ...

I'm back to work later this week ... I'm not sure where the last six weeks have gone but they have whizzed by!  I've done so much but at the same time seem to have done very little ... I've spent a lot of time travelling around the UK leaving me very little time for crafting and my blog.  My blog seems to be very quiet ... very few visitors and very few comments but I guess if I'm not blogging regularly there is no new reason to visit!  I'm hoping to rectify this by finding time to blog more often!

So here we go ... my second post for September and a new card to share:

I created the background using multiple background and sentiment stamps.  Stamped and die cut the bird before adhering it to the card using foam tape for added dimension.  I added the sentiment in black to make it pop from the background.

I used:
STAMPlorations: For the Birds Stamp and matching die set
                            Trendy Birds
Simon Says Stamp: Happy 3x4 stamp set
Versfine Onyx Black
Distress Ink: Peacock Feathers

AAA Cards Sketch ...

Time seems to be whizzing by this year ... it's September already!!

Sunday morning and time for a new challenge at AAA Cards ... so I hope you are ready to get creating a beautiful CAS card.  This time we have a Sketch challenge - I really like sketch challenges as at least you know how to layout your card even if you then have to decide on which images to use!

We would like to see you create a Clean and Simple (CAS) card using this sketch.  This is the card I created to inspire (hopefully!).

I used:
UNIKO - Pure Florals: Gerbera
            - Simply Said
Versafine Onyx Black Ink
WOW Clear Embossing Powder
Zig Real Brush Color Markers

I do hope that you will join in with the challenge and I look forward to seeing your cards.

AAA Cards ... Use a stencil ...

Sunday morning and time for a new challenge at AAA Cards and we would like you to use a stencil to create a card.

My original plan was to create a one layer card but, you know how it is, there was a spot of paint in the wrong place ...

I used some vibrant magenta acrylic paint to stencil the two flowers and then added a sketchy outline using a black marker.  I die cut a small label and stamped the sentiment and adhered it with foam adhesive.  Finally I added the panel to the card base.

I used:

STAMPlorations - Happy Flowers Large ARTplorations stencil
DecoArts Fluid Acrylic - Quinacridone Magenta
Simon Says Stamp - Happy stamp set
Clearly Besotted Journal It Die
Pitt Black Artist Pen

Fancy joining in with the challenge but need more inspiration?  Then check out the other designers over at AAA Cards.  I look forward to seeing all of your beautiful creations.

Enjoy!

Christmas in August ...

Good evening ... it seems ages since I had time to create anything to share on my blog ... I've been busy over the last weeks paying two visits to my parents in Lincolnshire and my son in Edinburgh ... I'm jetting off again tomorrow (i use the term 'jetting off' very loosely!).  The destination this time is Liverpool with my lovely daughter to meet up with my son for my final birthday treat for this year - a three day break full of exhibitions and sightseeing as well as lots of good food (hopefully!).

We are half way through the school summer break and finding time to be creative has been difficult ... in between time away from home I've been trying to catch up on the annual cleaning, tidying and sorting the house ... not my favourite activity but a necessity.  I decided to take today off and get creating!!  I have a card to share with you:

I used:

UNIKO - Poinsettia
Wow Gold Embossing Powder
Zig Real Brush Clean Color Markers

I'm entering the following challenge:

AAA Cards ... Friendship

If you are in the UK ... I hope you are enjoying the sunshine!!  It's Sunday morning and time for a new challenge at AAA Cards and the theme is Friendship!

So if you need an excuse to be inside creating why not get out your supplies and join in with the challenge - create a CAS card and join in with the fun.

A simple design using a couple of dies and a panel of yupo coloured with alcohol inks - sometimes simple is enough.  I hope you will be inspired to join in.

Enjoy!

Rainbow Stripes ...

Good Afternoon!  I hope you are all well ... if you are in the UK I hope you are managing to make the most of the wonderful weather.

I'm on holiday from work (the paid type) and I'm trying to catch up with all the household chores in between spending time away with my family.  I'm just back from visiting family in Lincolnshire and tomorrow I am heading to Edinburgh, with my daughter, for a long weekend to see my son - it's ages since I saw him and I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am!!  So in a break from chores and to help the day pass quickly I decided to create a couple of cards ...

A one layer wonder ... two stamps, eight ink pads and a pokey tool!! ... and all completed in less than 10 minutes (9 minutes and 40 seconds!!)

I'm entering the following challenges:

"Less is More" #376

Inkspirational #166

The Male Room #91
