Penguin Trio ...

It's been a beautiful Autumn day - sunshine and blue sky, unseasonably warm a real bonus!

I'm working away at creating Christmas cards and I'm delighted that the number is steadily increasing - I may even be ready in time to catch the last post!!  Today's effort:

Some simple stamping water coloured using distress inks - I added some Wink of Stella sparkle to the hats and street light but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get it to show in the photograph!!

I'm joining in with the following challenge:

CUTplorations October Challenge ...

A quick post to remind you that you still have time to enter the STAMPlorations CUTplorations October Challenge:

The Design teams have been busy this month and have created lots more projects to inspire you to join in with the October challenges ... remember there are lots of prizes to be won!

This time I have created a card with a literal interpretation of the photograph:

I water coloured the pumpkin (I don't have a pumpkin stamp!!). The 'thanks' is die cut from a panel coloured with alcohol inks and gold foil and also from some white and black card, then stacked and adhered together to give the appearance of chipboard.  Clean and simple in design and easily replicated with different images.

In Celebration ...

If you are a regular to my blog you will know that I am on two Design Teams - AAACards and STAMPlorations Melissa Lane, a valued member and friend of the design teams passed away earlier this month. Today the we are joining together to  celebrate and acknowledge the artistic and creative talents of Melissa.

Melissa was a talented cardmaker, crafter & artist (https://honeybeelane.wordpress.com).  I was not lucky enough to have met Melissa in person but admired her work from afar.   Her favourite colour was red, and she loved butterflies -- so much so that many of the cards and other projects she made had butterflies in them.

I have created two simple butterfly cards as a tribute:

If you knew Melissa - maybe you were on the same design team(s) or you were bloggy friends however you knew her, you are welcome to join us in celebrating her life by creating a butterfly card in her memory.  You can link up your card on the STAMPlorations post.

Simple Christmas ...

The rain yesterday helped with my creative productivity ... I made six cards in all!!  Two I shared yesterday and another to share today.

My inspiration for this card was twofold - a need to create more Christmas cards and the new challenge at "Less is More"

I decided to create the tag as a topper for a card and to make it look as if it belonged to the card I added a couple of the die cut snowflakes to the card just peeking out from behind the tag.

Enjoy!

Mostly Leaves ...

Good evening ... I hope that you've all had a creative weekend ... it's been tipping it down with rain all day ... so no chance to do the gardening but rain never stops the creative process!!!  So I have spent the day creating ... first up:

Two cards, one stamp set, two designs and two occasions!

I masked the central section and then created the background by painting water colours on to acetate before smooshing it on to the card panel ... I tried the panel between colours and also added some splatters. I stamped and heat embossed the outline leaves then die cut 'Happy' out of the panel and three scrap pieces of card, I stacked and adhered the letters together and placed them back in the panel. I finished the card by adding a 'birthday' die cut.

I'm entering this card into the Addicted to CAS challenge:

I began by stamping and heat embossing the leaves onto some water colour card.  I coloured them with water colours before fussy cutting them out.  I adhered them using foam tape to add dimension and movement.  I die cut the sentiment and adhered the panel to a card base.

I'm entering this card in this month's CAS Watercolour Card Challenge:

I used:

STAMPlorations: The Bees Knees - Layered Leaves
                            CUTplorations - Thanks die
WOW Embossing Powder - Gold and Black
Die Namics - High Rise Alphabet

I'm entering both of the cards in this month's Twofer Card Challenge:

AAA Cards ... Moonlight

Happy Sunday everyone ... it is bright and early and time for a new challenge at AAA Cards.

I've combined ink blending with some shimmery mesh fabric to create the illusion of the night sky and added the sentiment to the moon - a literal interpretation!

I used:
A stamp from a free set from a magazine.
Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot
Versamark Ink
Wow Silver embossing powder.

Please join in with the challenge I would love to see you take on the theme.

Enjoy!
