Another Mixed Media Sunday ...

Another Sunday morning spent getting messy with paint, stamps and lots of other stuff!  These ATCs started as a print created using my gelli plate, acrylic paint and stencils.  I always hesitate before cutting my prints up ... but I do it anyway!!

I added modelling paste through a dotted stencil and some stamping to add more interest to the background.

I'm entering these into the Happy Little Stampers ATC challenge:

AAA Cards ... Tic Tac Toe

It's Sunday morning and time for a new challenge at AAA Cards and we sure have some fun for you!!

So many choices ... just in case you are not familiar with this type of challenge you need to choose three elements in a line just like in the game!  The challenge is sponsored by STAMPlorations

I went with Gold, Water colours and flowers:

I stamped and heat embossed the image before water colouring the flowers.  I then die cut the panel before assembling on to the card base - some of the elements were adhered flat to the base and the main circle image was added using foam tape.  I finally stamped and heat embossed the sentiment.

I used:
STAMPlorations - Dee Artsy Impressions, Blossom Sprays #2
UNIKO - Simply Said
Versamark
WOW Gold Embossing Powder
Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers
Lawn Cuts Stitched Rectangles
Dienamics Stitched Circles

I hope you will join in and have fun deciding which combination of elements to use.

Enjoy!

Birthday cogs ...

This card was inspired by the new challenge at "Less is More" - it's a sketch challenge this time (see below for the sketch) ...

I die cut the cogs a number of times and adhered them together to add dimension to them before adhering them to the card base.  I stamped the smaller cogs and the sentiment.  The cogs are brown rather than the black they look in the photograph ... I really need to practise taking photographs that provide a true image!!

Return of stitching ...

I wish I had something to say that was witty and entertaining or meaningful and insightful ... but no words spring to mind that are either so I'll just share a card with you ...

The inspiration for this card comes from the new challenge at "Less is More" the theme is ... "Bring Something Back".  When I first saw the challenge I had not got a clue where to start and then I had a 'light bulb' moment ... what about hand stitching!  So that was the starting point ... out came the embroidery silk and this is the result.  I then die cut the butterfly attaching it by the body only.  The finished panel was adhered to the card base using foam tape to add some dimension.

AAA Cards ... Perfect Day

Morning all!  It is time again for a new challenge at AAA Cards ...

... what springs to mind for you for A Perfect Day ... my thoughts immediately went to a Wedding Day but it could be anything it is your choice the only thing you need to remember is to keep your design clean and simple (CAS).

Apologies for the bright white line - this is a reflection from my camera and not part of the design!!
This is a simple design that is all about the words!!  The colour behind the letters is part of a print created by me using a gelli plate (my current obsession!).

I used:
Dienamics High Rise Alphabet
Tattered Lace Alpha Retro
UNIKO Simple Said Stamp set

I hope that you join in with the challenge and look forward to visiting your blogs to check out what you come up with!

Blue flowers ...

... another 60th birthday card ... this time the numbers are hidden, slightly more subtle than my earlier card!

The image was heat embossed with silver embossing powder before water colouring with distress inks.  I die cut the numbers out of the panel and three more times from a scrap of card and then adhered them together and placed them back into the panel.  Added the panel to the card base and stamped and heat embossed the sentiment.

Happy 60th ...

It's a holiday weekend in the UK and the weather is very British ... wet, cold and dreary ... a good excuse to spend the day crafting!!

I'm trying to design some 60th birthday cards ... I seem to know a lot of people that are turning 60 this year in fact most of the people I went to school with!!

This is the first card:

The background strip was taken from a print created using acrylic paints, stencils and a gelli plate.  Printing using a gelli plate has become a real obsession ... I find it very relaxing and I never know what the final print will look like ... at least I've started to use the prints creatively!

I was inspired by this week's challenge at CAS Colours and Sketches:

AAA Cards ... Favourite Technique ...

Good Morning ... I hope you haven't been caught out by any jokers in your house this morning ... it is April Fool's Day!!  I don't have any jokes or pranks to play on you so you are safe to carry on reading!!  Today is the start of a new challenge at AAA Cards ... this time we are encouraging you to create a CAS card using your favourite technique.

I have so many favourite techniques it was difficult to decide which one to choose!!  I finally decided to go with using my Zig markers to water colour a floral image.

I stamped and heat embossed the image before colouring using zig markers - I cut up the image into six pieces and adhered them, like a jigsaw puzzle, to the card base.

Do you have a favourite technique ... why not get out your supplies and join in with the challenge.

Enjoy!
