Positive thoughts ...

After the searing heat of the last few days today has been cool and wet ... so no chance of getting in the garden but a good excuse to spend time creating.  Inspired by a couple of challenges I made a couple of cards ... both simple in design:

The stamped image was coloured with Inktense pencils and the fussy cut before adhering to the card base with foam tape for added dimension.  The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed.

I used:
STAMPlorations: Bloomful Stamp set
Inktense Pencils

I'm entering the current challenge at AAA Cards

My second card is a one layer card, again a very simple design:

Apologies for the wonky photograph!

The image was a free stamp on a magazine which I stamped and heat embossed before colouring with inktense pencils.

I'm entering the current challenge at "Less is More"

Enjoy!

Out of hiding ...

This year, so far, has not been the best of years for me ... I spent the first three months mostly driving backwards and forwards to my parents, living out of a suitcase and coming home to work for at least part of the week.  Unfortunately my father passed away at the end of March after a traumatic and rapid decline ... dementia has to be one of the cruellest conditions known to man.  April disappeared in a fog ... and since then apart from the odd creative moments I have been in hiding!!

However, I managed to finish one very important project ... it involved die cutting over 2,000 solid diamonds and 2,000 outline diamonds!  It is the most important project that I have ever embarked on ... invitations for my beautiful daughter's wedding!  This is the invitation:

The colours are more vibrant in real life!!

The project is not finished yet as I need to create more diamonds for the evening invitations, the name plates, the table plan and anything else my daughter decides is essential!  As with most of us mums I always do as I'm told!

The wedding theme is geometric ... we are busy designing decorations for the venue ... this will involve 3D diamonds, pyramids, and cubes ... so far I have made 500!! (approximately 2 inches in size!) I'll share more about the decor after the event in November.

It seems strange to create a post about such sadness and such happiness together but I guess that is life ... full of extremes.

Enjoy!
