AAA Cards ... over the rainbow ...

It is Sunday morning and time for a new challenge at AAA Cards ... this time the challenge is all about 'Somewhere over the rainbow' ... we would like to see you create a CAS card inspired by the phrase.

What inspires you?... for me it is the colours of the rainbow that inspire ... not just today but often when I create.  The card I designed is gender neutral and involves lots of straight lines and lots of white space.

I masked off a triangular area of the card before stamping and heat embossing using a background stamp.  I selected some rainbow coloured markers and randomly coloured just some of the small triangles.  I die cut 'happy' three times and stacked and adhered them together before stamping the small 'birthday' and adding it.

I used:
Simon Says Stamp - Lattice Grid Background stamp
Versafine Onyx Black Ink
WOW fine clear embossing powder
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers
STAMPlorations - Happy die

I hope you will be inspired to join in with the challenge and remember to check out the blog for more inspiration from the rest of the design team - I just know you will not be disappointed.

Enjoy!

Tangerine and Olive ...

Good evening ... I hope all is good with you!  I'm popping by to share a card that I made some time ago but had forgotten all about until I spotted the challenge at "Less is More" - it is a colour challenge - to use tangerine and olive.

This is a wedding card that I made at the request of my daughter ... you may be wondering how I came up with, what appears to be, a random combination of elements!!  The reason for the design is that my daughter was making the wedding cake - three tiers - one chocolate, one lemon drizzle and a top layer of a victoria sponge which she decorated with orange slices and bay leaves.  So my brief was oranges and leaves!  This is the cake:

She was delighted with the card and the wedding party soon demolished the cake!!

I used:
A free circle stamp from the Craft Stamper Magazine
STAMPlorations - Leaf Stencil
                           - Crazy Running Stitch Rectangle die
Molding paste
Distress inks - Spiced marmalade
PaperArtsy - Hey Pesto Acrylic paint

"Less is More" #375

AAA Cards Christmas in July ...

Yes, that's right ... 'Christmas in July' is the theme for the new challenge at AAA Cards ... our aim is to help and encourage you to get creating those all important Christmas cards.  Every year I promise myself that I will not leave my Christmas cards until the last minute and every year I seem to forget.

So this year ... I've started with three cards!!  Same design just different colourways ... a simple and super CAS one layer card ... easily replicated with any Christmas image and small sentiment:

Apologies for the shadow ... I either have not enough light or too much!!

The third card is hiding!
I used:

STAMPlorations:  Yuletide Deer
UNIKO:  Simply Said
WOW:  White, gold and silver embossing powder
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers

I hope I've inspired you to get out the Christmas stamps and start creating ... come December you'll be thanking AAA Cards for bringing you Christmas in July!!

Enjoy!
