Holly ...

If you've seen my earlier post from this evening you will no doubt spot the similarity between this card and the earlier card!

I stamped and masked the holly and then stamped the sentiments around the image.

I used:

Distress inks - Festive Berries, Pine Needles, Lucky clover and Crushed Olive
Sheena Douglas Stamp Set - A Little Bit Festive

I'm going to enter the following challenges:

Red and Black ...

Another card for the Christmas card collection ...

Lots of stamping and just a pop of red.  I stamped and masked the robin before using two border stamps across the card.  I then masked the border along with a strip down the length of the card before stamping the words.  The robin was water coloured with distress inks.

I used:
Distress Inks - Festive berries and squeezed lemonade
Sheena Douglas Stamp set - A Little Bit Festive
Sentiments from numerous stamp sets.

I'm going to enter the current TIME OUT Challenge #174

Another Christmas card ...

I'm still trying to create enough Christmas cards (that I like) ready to send to friends and family - today's contribution:

I was inspired by the current challenge at the CAS Christmas Card challenge to create a card using non traditional colours.

I used:

UNIKO - Stunning Snowflakes
Tumbled Glass Distress Ink
Versafine Onyx Black ink

Stay well!

Double stars ...

No Christmas cards today ... today I thought I would take my inspiration from the new Twofer Card Challenge ... the theme for this month is to feature Stars ... now normally you have to create two cards for two different events but using the same resources ... so this is what I did.  I just wish that I had read the rules more carefully ... this month you can make two cards for one occasion - Christmas!!  The moral of the story is never assume you know - read the rules each and every time!

First up I went for a New Year card:

I used the current sketch from CASE(E) this Sketch! (details at the end of this post).  I started by masking the central panel before adding texture paste through a stencil, once dry I stamped a number of small outline stars to echo the design.  The numbers were die cut from a piece of card coloured using acrylic paints, stencils and a gelli plate.

The second card is a general card:

For this one I started with the current sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches (details at the end of this post).  I took the same stencil used in the first card but this time ink blended through it and the outlined the stars with a fine marker to lift them from the background.  The star is die cut from another piece of card created on a gelli plate.

Golden Stag ...

Another day, another Christmas card:

Another simple design using die cuts and a stamped sentiment. I'm not sure where the stag die came from possibly free with a magazine.

I'm going to enter the new challenge at CASology #378

Take care!

Red and Gold ...

Today's been another day of Christmas card making ... having seen the new challenge at AAA Cards I decided to use the sketch (see below) to see what I could do ...

I stamped and heat embossed a panel using a seasonal text background stamp with gold embossing powder.  I also stamped and heat embossed the gift before water colouring the it and then ink blending the panel of text.  I fussy cut the gift and cut the panel into strips. the stripes were adhered flat onto the card base and the gift with foam adhesive.  I finished the card by stamping and heat embossing the sentiment.

Having created one card I had enough pieces to create another three in the same design before moving on and trying out the sketch in a different orientation.

This time using my favourite Christmas colour combination of blue and silver.  Pretty much the same technique as the red and cold but using snowflakes instead of text.

I'm entering the red and gold one in the AAA Cards #178 sketch challenge with the optional twist of using primary colours:

The blue and silver card I'm entering in the CAS Christmas Card Challenge
