Indecision has led to this post of two cards using the same image presented slightly differently - I couldn't decide which I preferred so I will leave it up to you to decide!!
I came across this embroidery image of a rudbeckia when I was sorting out my craft area and thought it would make a lovely image for a card. The first one I stitched was straight onto a piece of textured cardstock using one strand of embroidery silk. I then cropped the image layered it on kraft card added a sentiment then mounted it with dimensional adhesive.
The layout is based on this week's sketch challenge at "Less is More" -
For the second card I painted a light water colour wash across the piece of card before stitching the image. The difference is very subtle:
Enjoy!
Beautifully crafty! I love your embroidered card or shall I say cards! Xx

This is clever, Elaine... I used to do stitched pictures with the kids at school... not as refined as this however!

They are both fabulous. What a brilliant idea to embroider your image.

How awesome you are to combine needlework art with card art, Elaine!! As for which I like better, I will say the first one without the wash. Normally, I love a wash (dry and set, too, for that matter), but in this case I love the pure white background so that there is nothing to interfere with your eye enjoying the finely stitched image!! I think you have a winner here!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteElaine these are totally gorgeous, stunning creations!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in with Less is More this week
