One stamp, two cards ...

After a morning of gardening it was back to the craft room for some inky fun!  This time I was inspired by the current challenge at the Twofer Card Challenge with the theme of trees ... as autumn is just around the corner my colour palette was easy to choose, I love autumnal colours.

For the 'best wishes' card I stamped the tree and then used the small leaf stamp to add the fallen leaves plus a few leaves on the tree for detail.  I die cut the focal image, I also die cut the background from a piece of card I had printed using acrylic pants and stencils using a gelli plate.  I adhered the background flat on the card base before adding the tree with foam tape to add dimension and finally stamped the sentiment.

For the 'with sympathy' card I die cut a square aperture out of a piece of card and stamped the sentiment.  I took the card base and marked the position of the aperture before ink blending the background before stamping the tree as a silhouette.  The aperture card was adhered to the card base with foam tape to frame the image and add dimension to the card.

I used:

Stampin Up: Totally Trees

Distress Inks - Spiced Marmalade, Festive Berries, Scattered Straw, Ripe Persimmon and Candied Apple

Ranger Archival Ink - Potting Shed

UNIKO: Simply Said

Dienamics Stitched Squares

These are the details of the Twofer Card Challenge #31

Enjoy!

  1. I can tell by your designs, Elaine, that you love autumn and all the warm vibrant colors it brings to our gardens and neighborhoods. I love your tree laden with with gorgeous autumn colors and backed by a close-up of those beautiful leaves. Very clever design! And your blended sunset is divine! It makes a brilliant background for the now naked tree, perfect for a sympathy card. Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #31! Keep well! Hugs, Darnell

  3. Beautiful cards! Two equally gorgeous colors and designs. Love the fall colors of both -- but you'll have to go check out mine (my Sympathy card uses the same colors)!

  4. Beautiful cards, I love that sponged background. It is a gorgeous place for that bare tree to stand out. It looks so pretty with it's autumn leaves on the first card.

  5. These are lovely, Elaine. While here in SE WI the leaves are barely starting to turn, I always look forward to the Fall colors. You've given me a glimpse of things to come with these two cards. I love the background you've created for your first card and the tree panel you've made for it. The fallen leaves around the base of the tree is a wonderful touch! And your sympathy card is so pretty. It will bring such comfort when you need to give it. Beautiful inking and that's a great tree. Thank you for joining us at The Twofer Challenge. Stay safe. Bev
