STAMPlorations Spring Fling Blog Hop and Linky Party ...

Come along and join in with the fun ... we are having a blog hop and linky party over at STAMPlorations to celebrate Spring!  Like all great parties there are prizes to be won and fun for all.

Spring has sprung in the UK in fact most of my tulips have passed their peak of beauty so this really is a reminder of the splendour of tulips:

For this one I stencilled a panel with the Doodled Tulips stencil and acrylic paints and cut a panel from it.  I added a die cut panel of vellum with a clear sticker phrase.

I used:
STAMPlorations - Doodled Tulips Stencil
                           - April Showers Clear Stickers

I hope you will join in with the Spring Fling ... I know that you are in for a treat with all the amazing projects that you will see along the way and a chance to win:

Prizes:
- THREE (3) winners of $10 gift code drawn from comments left on the main blog and designers' blogs

Always believe ...

I'm just popping by to share a card created for the Calling all Sistahs challenge:

I used a stencil and acrylic paint to create the chrysanthemum and when the paint was dry I added a sketchy outline to the petals using a black fine liner.  I then sliced and diced the image (the first cut is the scariest!) and then adhered them to a square card base.  I had intended adding a sentiment on top of the image but it just did not work so I added it to the inside.

Sunshine ...

Good evening!!  Passing through to share a card ... it doesn't look exactly as I had imagined it would but that's not that unusual!!

The card is based around a mono-print created using acrylic paints, some homemade stencils and a gelli printing plate.  I love messing around with paints and stencils.  My idea was to create a tag to reflect the sunshine, to add some stripes to reflect the rainbow and some droplets of rain ... as you can see that is exactly what I did I'm just not sure that it has gone together very well.

I like all of the parts I'm just not sure about the whole!!

I used:
Gelli Arts Gel Press
Acrylic Paints
DecoArts Modeling Paste
Lawn Cuts Stitched Tag
Distress Inks
STAMPlorations Droplet Stencil
STAMPlorations Typografia Encouragement Stamp Set.

I'm entering the following challenge:

I'm also going to link up to:

STAMPlorations Flash Stencil Project Link Party
and as I used STAMPlorations stamps and stencil I'm also going to link to their Never ending Anything Goes Challenge.

Enjoy!

Golden bloom ...

I've another clean and simple one layer card to show for this evening's efforts!  I've tried a new to me technique using a stencil, distress ink and cosmic shimmer texture paste.  It's a fun technique to do but not very easily photographed - in fading light it is quite difficult to see the shimmer the paste creates but trust me in real life there is a lovely sheen to the image.  I might try to get another photograph in the sunshine!

I used:

Distress Inks - Mowed Lawn, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Pine Needles
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Texture Paste
Imagination Crafts Stencil
STAMPlorations - Subway Art Builders: DARE

I am going to enter the following challenges:

"Less is More" - One Layer card, Off the Edge
Inkspirational - CAS
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Stencil It

Enjoy!

Smiling Monday ...

Lots to smile about today!  It's Monday but no work as it's a Bank Holiday.  I've been gardening and managed to clear the patio of most of the weeds.  The sun is shining.  I've created a card which I will enter into a couple of challenges.  The biggest smile was when I found that one of my cards had been chosen as a Top Pick on the STAMPlorations blog - it was the first time I had entered a challenge on this blog and I'm honoured to have been chosen.   You can see the card that was chosen here.  Do take the time to visit STAMPlorations blog they produce a great range of stamps as well as running challenges.

Today's card involves acrylic paint, gesso and a stencil to create a paper - similar to the paper I created for my Rainbow card here.  The colours are not as vibrant as a rainbow but are mellow and soothing - I'm hoping it will make the recipient smile!

The layer of gesso defines the flowers and adds texture
I will enter this into the following challenges:

"Less is More" - Makes Me Smile
Addicted to Stamps and More - Anything Goes

Enjoy!
