Water Colour 50 ...

Good Morning!  It is a dreary day in Oxfordshire ... that's the downside, the upside is I don't garden when it is wet and cold so I can spend the day crafting!  To begin with I'd like to share a card I created yesterday ...

A special friend of mine turns 50 this month and I just wanted to create a special card for her ... and this is it!  I stamped and heat embossed the image before water colouring.  I die cut the panel to create the frame so some of the image trickles onto the outer frame. I die cut the numbers out of the main panel and an additional four times from some card before sticking them together and placing back into the panel.  The centre rectangle was then backed with fun foam to add more dimension before adhering it to the card base.

I used:
STAMPlorations Blossom Sprays #2
CUTplorations Wonky Stitched Rectangle die
Dienamics High Rise Numbers
WOW White embossing powder.

I'm entering the following challenges:

"Less is More" #348

Taking Flight ...

Good evening ... I've been on a bit of a roll today ... I've spent most of the day crafting (well in between ironing and cooking dinner!).  I'm delighted that I have another card to share with you inspired by this week's challenge at "Less is More".  This is my second card primarily using a die.

I die cut the dragonflies four times before sticking them together - I find this is the easiest way to add dimension with intricate dies.  I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of cream card and then cut it into a fishtail banner.

Christmas robin ...

I have been on a mission recently to design a Christmas card that I like and is quick to make ... I like this card but it certainly was not quick to make!

I love the effect of paper piecing but it can be very time consuming,  This die is a Sue Wilson die from her Festive Collection ... it cuts beautifully.  I used kraft card for the frame and then various pattern papers for the detail.  I then adhered the finished panel to the card using a piece of fun foam to add dimension.

I'm entering this week's challenge at "Less is More" - the theme is 'Take Flight' - although my Robin is sitting on a branch I just know that he is about to take off!!

AAA Cards Autumn Colours ...

Good morning!  It is time for a new challenge at AAA Cards ... this time the challenge is all about the colours of autumn.

I love Autumn colours ... the trees look beautiful as they change from green to glorious yellows, oranges and red and the light at this time of the year is so bright and clean (unless it's raining!!).  The challenge is being sponsored by UNIKO ... so I have used one of their beautiful floral stamp sets.

I used:

UNIKO - Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum stamp set and matching dies
            - Simply Said
Wow White Embossing Powder
Distress Inks - Squeezed Lemondae, Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade, Candied Apple, Festive Berries, Peeled Paint and Black Soot

I hope that you will join in with the challenge, I know you will have fun and you might just win!

Enjoy!

One Layer Wonder ...

Well it's been a very long week ... I realise it has only been as long as every other week in terms of hours and days but it is the first week back at work and it has been hectic ... I feel like I need another holiday to get over it!!  Anyway the weekend is here I've had a lovely day out with my daughter celebrating her birthday and I've even managed to squeeze in some crafting!

I have a card to share for this week's challenge at "Less is More" - it is One Layer week with the theme of 'colouring in'.

This is my card:

I began by masking a portion of the card where I wanted to place the sentiment.  I then stamped the image with grey ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder before water colouring the image with distress inks.  Then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and added a few splatters.

I used:
STAMPlorations - Blossom Sprays #2
Distress Inks - Picked raspberry, dried marigold, twisted citron and peeled paint.
WOW clear embossing powder
