Christmas words 2 and 3 ...

I've been on a roll this afternoon!  Having designed and created a card late this morning I then came up with a variation on the idea and a variation on the variation!!

This is the first variation, this time I created a Christmas tree stencil and used a collection of happy stamps to 'colour' it.  I then die cut "Christmas" in three colours - cream, Bermuda Bay and Salty Ocean, layered them together ... this is it:

For the variation on the variation, I used the stencil to create the tree using the happy stamps, die cut Christmas out of the card and replaced it with a silver die cut Christmas. Which do you prefer?

I'm going to enter these into the "Less is More"  challenge 'Mostly Words'.

Enjoy!

Christmas words ...

I'm not sure what is happening to the British weather but warm sunshine at the end of September is very welcome - the only problem is that the weeds think it is OK to keep growing!

A quick post of this card created for the new challenge at "Less is More" where the theme is "Mostly Words".  I love creating cards using lots of words.

I die cut the 'Christmas' coloured it using a silver marker and then inlaid it back into the cardstock.  I used three different 'happy' stamps.

Enjoy!

Just because ...

No time for crafting at the weekend, I was family visiting in Lincolnshire!!  I was beginning to think I had left my inspiration at my mum's but tonight I managed to create this card:

I created this for this week's challenge at "Less is More" where the theme is 'Face the Music and Dance'.  This is a simple card using the only stamp that I own remotely connected to the theme.  I had hoped to come up with a clever idea but my inspiration was lacking in clever ideas!!

I am also going the enter the Clean and Simple challenge at Addicted to Stamps.

Enjoy!

Blooming delight ...

This is a card that I started sometime ago.  I had created a floral panel about 5cm x 15cm (2"x 6") but had no idea what I was going to do with it.  I seem to make a habit of stamping and colouring images or using different techniques to create backgrounds and then have no idea what to do with them!!  Anyway, less of the waffle this is how I used the panel:

Apologies for the shadow across the bottom!
This shows the raised elements
I used:

STAMPlorations - Bloom Sketches and Holiday Artsy
Distress Inks - Dried Marigold, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed
Tim Holtz Honeycomb Alterations Frameworks

I'm going to enter the following challenges:

Penny Black and More - AUTUMN COLOURS

CASology

Cheers ...

Today seems to be scooting by ... it will soon be Monday!!

I have managed to create a card this afternoon that I didn't think I would be able to.  When I saw this week's challenge at "Less is More" I was convinced that I wouldn't be entering as I was sure I didn't have any suitable stamps - the challenge is for a one layer card with the theme of BEVERAGES.  However, my son suggested drawing a glass of beer and the rest, as they say, is history.

I created a stencil by hand drawing a beer glass and coloured the image using distress inks.  I then used the only stamp remotely connected to beverages to add a sentiment in a similar way to the beer brand found on a pint glass.  This is the final version:

It did take me three attempts to get it right!

I used:

Vintage Photo and Antique Linen Distress Inks
Versafine Onyx Black

Enjoy!

One for two ...

How exciting - it's Friday!!  I'm sure this week has been longer than normal it has certainly taken me longer than normal to create this card!  I've been working on this card on and off every evening this week but it finally came together last night, hopefully it was worth it!

I started by created a background using distress inks and then used a stencil and texture paste to create the leaves.  I originally planned to leave it at that and put the panel onto the card but it just did not look right - so I took the scissors to it!  I fussy cut the leaves, machine stitched the hessian to the centre of some coloured cardstock, added the sentiment, adhered the leaves with foam squares and then mounted the panel using dimensional tape onto the card base!

I was inspired by the challenge at The Mixed Media Card Challenge

I will also enter the challenge at The Male Room where the theme is AUTUMN/FALL.

I used:

Sweet Poppy Stencil
Distress Inks - Dried Marigold, Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo
Golden Gel Light Molding Paste
Simon Says Stamp - handwritten sentiment stamp

Enjoy!

I used:

Uniko Studio Gerbera stamp
Distress inks - picked raspberry, peacock feathers, spiced marmalade, marigold
Stampin Up Gorgeous grunge and Off the Grid stamp sets.

Guest Design ...

My design for the Uniko Studio Challenge 12 was chosen as a winner and as well as receiving a voucher I was also invited to be a guest designer for the next challenge.  The theme for the challenge 13 is Celebration. Why not pop along and join in with the challenge.  I am always short of male cards so added this self challenge when putting my design together.  This is the result:

The stamped image is from Uniko Studios - Today, Tomorrow & Always TIME

The image was heat embossed
Sorry about the brief post only I need to get to work!!

Words, words and more words ...

I have half a day left of the summer vacation before work begins tomorrow - what better way to spend it other than lunch with my son and then an afternoon of crafting!!!

This is a card I created for the new sketch challenge at STAMPlorations and I used my newest stamp set from STAMPlorations - Bloom Sketches - well I used most of the words and not the images.  I love creating panels using sentiments, the jigsaw approach to stamping is just the sort of challenge I enjoy.  I'm saving myself to use the beautiful bloom stamps that are incuded in the set but I do have an idea so you never know I might just be posting again later today!!  In the mean time here is my card:

The background is created by colouring light molding paste
This is the sketch:

As you can see I have stuck closely to the sketch.  I used the following:

STAMPlorations Stamp Set - Bloom Sketches
Stampin Up Inks - Bermuda Bay; Not Quite Navy; Pistachio Pudding; Coastal Cabana; Baja Breeze
Golden Gel Medium - Light Molding Paste
Tim Holtz Stripes Layering Stencil

I also have some exciting news - one of my cards won the last challenge at STAMPlorations - this is the card that I won with:

Thank you to the team at STAMPlorations for choosing me.

Enjoy!
