Golden Butterflies ...

Well, here we are on the last Friday of April and the end of the first quarter of the year ... I wonder what the rest of the year has install for us.  It is also time to share this week's Visible Image project.

I stamped a background 'square' onto the card base before adhering the butterflies and stamping the sentiment..

                       - Go to Words
                       - Wings of Change

Blue birthday ...

Friday again and time to share my weekly Visible Image Instagram project.

A very clean and simple card this week - I love to find ways of using all the stamps that are part of a stamp set and not necessarily the feature stamp,

I stamped and heat embossed the image before colouring with distress inks.  I trimmed around the images and then adhered them straight onto the card base.  The sentiment was also stamped and heat embossed but adhered to the card with some foam tape for added dimension.

The design is not as complex as some but it shows the versatility of the stamp set ... and sometimes you just need to be able to put a card together quickly.  The design itself is gender neutral and would be a good card for any age group.

Positive thoughts ...

Good morning!  I'm popping in early to share this card that I completed yesterday ... it took quite some time to create.

A slightly different style for me as the whole of the card front is full so not strictly speaking CAS (Clean and Simple) but it seems uncluttered in my mind!

The start:
Using this stencil and an embossing dabber I heat embossed specific words down the front of the card.

I stamped and heat embossed the flower before water colouring using an Inktense pencil.

Once I had fussy cut the flower I adhered it to the card base with foam tape to add some dimension.

I used:
Visible Image - Words of Support Stencil
                       - Total Chaos Stamp Set
Ranger Emboss It Dabber
Silver Embossing Powder
Inktense pencil

Less is More ... One Layer Challenge

It is amazing how quickly we get back to One Layer challenges at Less is More and that is exactly what we have for you this week.

I have a couple of cards to get you thinking.

I created this card using a stencil and Inktense pencils - a simple design and layout using very few resources.

My second card was even more simple as it was just two stamps and a sentiment, although I did heat emboss both elements.

Please remember this is a one layer challenge - this literally means just the card base and no additional layers.

I hope you will find time to join in with the challenge and look forward to seeing your designs.

A Pair of Tags ...

Another week done and dusted!!!  It is time for my weekly Visible Image project, this week I've been creating tags - a kind of two for one deal!!

It is a two for one deal as I created the background image using the Fibonacci background stamp across both tags.  This was heat embossed before I spritzed it with water and then dropped in distress ink to at colour to the background.

Moving on then to the focal images.  My approach to these were the same - stamped, heat embossed, water coloured and then fussy cut.  I adhered them to the tag with foam adhesive to add dimension and finished with the words.

I used:

                         - No Regrets Stamp Set
                         - Wings of Change Stamp Set
                         - Flower Art Stamp Set
                         - Equality, Hope and Love Stamp Set
Distress Inks - Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch
Versafine Onyx Black
WOW Clear Embossing Powder

April Snow ...

It is hard to believe that it is April as we got up this morning to a covering of snow and for it to still be snowing ... it just shows how strange the weather can be as now (afternoon) the snow has gone and the sun is shining brightly!  Oh well, at least it gives me something to talk about!!!

I finished off a card tis morning that was in response to a couple of challenges:

It was only when I photographed the card that I realised I had been influenced by the weather!!  I haven't created a bokeh effect card for simply years!!!  I'm not sure why or how it popped into my head as a possibility but it did - I do like the way it adds some interest to the background.

I ink blended the background using two distress inks and then used a stencil to blend the dots through to create the bokeh effect.  I had already stamped and masked the flower before creating the background so once it was dry I just had to colour the image and add the sentiment.

I used:
Visible Image - Creative Chaos Stamp set, Two Tone Stencil and Go to Words stamp set.
Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass, Twisted Citron and Picked Raspberry

I am entering the following challenge:

I took inspiration from the colours and the flowers centred in the photograph.

Sunday Snow! ...

Good afternoon ... it seems that the weather is increasingly unpredictable, it is almost the middle of April and we have just had a snow/hail shower ... I'm sure this time last year the sun was shining!!  As always it means finding stuff to do inside, what better way to pass the time than getting creative.

I stamped and heat embossed the floral image with Versamark ink and WOW white embossing powder before water colouring with distress inks. I fussy cut the image out but before adhering it to the card base I stamped some splatters and the sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:

Best wishes ... and exciting news!

Well exciting news ... April has turned out to be the best month of 2021 (so far anyway!) ... so what is my news I hear you ask ... I've joined the Visible Image Instagram design team!  It is a real boost to have been invited to join the team and I'm really looking forward to working with the amazing company and the other designers.

This is my first project which is being shared on Instagram

First up I stamped and heat embossed the corners with the Fibonacci background stamp - before water colouring with distress inks.

I had already stamped and heat embossed the flower from the Creative Chaos stamp set and coloured it with some acrylic paint as I really wanted the colour to be intense - I don't have a yellow ink that would work.  I fussy cut the image before adhering it to the panel with foam adhesive along with the sentiment.

I spritzed the corners with water before dropping in the distress ink and then sprayed it again to spread the ink and to get it to pool between the embossed stamping.

I left a small white border when I fussy cut the flower

I used:

Visible Image - Fibonacci
                      - Creative Chaos
                         - Go to Words
Distress Inks - Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade
Versafine Onyx Black Ink
WOW Clear Embossing Powder

STAMPlorations ... Things with Wings

Are you ready for some fun?  It is time for a blog hop over at STAMPlorations starting today if you join in you could be lucky and win some amazing prizes - pop across to the blog to check out all of the details and see some amazing inspiring projects from the rest of the design team.

I've created a set of ATC's - to celebrate the hop and to encourage you to join in.

The ATC's were cut from a gelli print created with acrylic paints and stencils.  Once cut I used the texture plate to add detail along with additional stamping to add more interest.  The solid dragonflies were cut from black card and the detailed intricate layer was cut from the same gelli print card that the ATC's were created from.

I used:
STAMPlorations - Dragonfly Layering Dies
                                ATC Tag Builder
                                Wonky Stitched Texture Plate
                                Art Marks Stamp Set
                               Mixed Media Elements Stamp Set
                               Hey Sunshine Clear Stickers
(This post contains affiliate links when you click on them and place an order I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you)

I hope that you will join in with the blog hop and help celebrate Spring!

It is time for April showers and Spring flowers and it is also time for a new challenge at Less is More today's challenge is a colour challenge:

I have a simple, almost one layer card, design to hopefully to inspire you to join in.

Grey is not a colour that I use very often and I was concerned about grey leaves but I am quite happy with the effect that it gives.  I also decided to add a few splatters - something I always hesitate to include.

I used:
Rubber Dance Sketchy Flowers #1
Kaisercraft Mini Clear stamp sentiment
Distress Inks Picked Raspberry, Weathered Wood and Pumice Stone
Cosmic Shimmer embossing Powder
Versafine Onyx Black ink

Remember to check out the website for more inspiration.  I look forward to seeing your creations.
