Let's start with the card ... a clean and simple card created using scraps of card that I previously coloured using the shaving foam technique along with a bit of stamping.
I've made the card for this week's "Less is More" challenge - it is recipe week and the main ingredient is Snippets (I have a whole box of bits that need using so this is an ideal challenge!). It is Chrissie's (owner of the challenge) birthday week so this card is also to celebrate the occasion.
I'm also going to enter the challenge at Addicted to Stamps where the theme is Clean and Simple.
I mentioned earlier that I had a new piece of equipment ... in fact I have two new major pieces of equipment. You see it was my birthday last Friday and my son and daughter gave me some new crafting kit.
My son made me a printing press ...
My daughter gave me a gelli plate! I've wanted one for months but just couldn't justify buying myself one so it was really exciting to be given one as a gift. So I've had the paints and stencils out today to have a play - these are my first two prints>
I clearly need to practise! Hopefully I will be able top create some nice background papers and maybe even a work of art!!!
Enjoy!
While your card is lovely, I LOVE your geli prints! You did awesome for a first try! My first..........garbage can :)
ReplyDeleteLove your card Elaine, my favourite shade of blue. All the little details make it really special but still CaS.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday and enjoy playing with your new kit

Great card - simple but with so much detail!
ReplyDeleteI can't remember if I said this or not, Elaine, but Happy Belated Birthday!! You received two wonderful gifts! First, though, your card is a marvelous design! I love the elements and the colors! Have fun with your new toys!! I think you plated up some magnificent gellies, which I'm SURE you will turn into works of art! As for mine, well, it turns out that I made some spectacular designs on bread with mine!! Hugs, Darnell

Beautiful card !!
ReplyDeleteWow ...what a fabulous card...and fabulous presents. Happy belated birthday to you. Those prints look fine to me...I have not ventured down the gelli plate route...but looks like the kind of washing that all crafters would like to see on their line! Enjoy playing with your press too......look forward to seeing your results.
ReplyDeleteI love how you angled the frame and your butterflies and die cut sentiment is just beautiful, Elaine! Beautiful color palette, too! Thanks so much for playing along with us this week at ATSM!
