The flowers were white heat embossed onto vellum before colouring with Zig Clean Colour Real Brush markers and then fuzzy cut to create three elements. I die cut a square and a frame from matching card and spread some modelling paste through a stencil to add texture and interest. I popped the frame up on some foam tape before adhering it all together and adding a sentiment.
I used:
STAMPlorations Bloom Sketches
Floral Bliss
The Crafters Workshop Stencil Mini Rustic Paint
ZIG Clean colour Real Brush Markers
DecoArt Modeling Paste
I'm going to enter the following challenges:
TIME OUT Challenge #55
'Celebrations with optional twist of die cutting/fussy cutting'
CAS MIXUP April Challenge
STAMPlorations
STAMPlorations Never-ending Anything Goes Challenge.
Enjoy!
This is gorgeous Elaine, I love the added texture with paste and what amazing colouring. I think the same about my cards, but if you think about it, we can often tell who has made a card before seeing the name, so I guess we all have a style but I think make what you like and what makes you happy, that is what I do, who cares if it is the same as my others!! We love to see you at TO
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine. Gorgeous CAS mixed media card. LOVE all that white space, with lots of pizzazz from your colourful vellum flowers and texture from the embossing paste and frame. BEAUTIFUL! I think we all struggle with this question about our style. I have decided that whatever makes me happy, is what I need to make. And if they have a similar look, that's OK. It's me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx
What beautiful flowers, Elaine! And the framed stenciling is gorgeous! I love the added texture! I like your style! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing one color card! So much depth and character...love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card. Just celebrate finding your own style and embrace it, that way you will always produce gorgeous creations. I think many of us feel the same, but although we might feel we create cards that are similar, other people have a very different view, they don't necessarily compare your work to your previous cards and only see the beauty of your creation! Keep true to your style, it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteArt in any form is a very personal thing isn't it and we will not always like what we produce or see from others....but in the end...if you do and it makes you happy that is what matters. I think your card is lovely. I am impressed at your technique for added texture, your frame and the pretty coloured flowers....so it gets my vote!! keep them coming you give everyone pleasure by creating.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! The white looks so crisp with red and your design is awesome!
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with having a beautiful style...love the frame and the flowers! I'm sure you will find yourself moving slowly to a bit different form; it goes so slowly, but check out your first makes and what you make now and you'll see the difference! Thank you for taking some TIME OUT and join us!
