Too much white? ...

Good evening!

A quick post to share a card inspired by this week's challenge at "Less is More" it is a Sketch this week (see below) and this is my entry:

I think there is just too much white!  The chrysanthemum was heat embossed in white before colouring with distress inks.  I also heat embossed the chrysanthemum onto the cards base - you can just about see it in the photograph.  The angled panel is set on foam to add dimension and the die cut leaf has been hand embossed to add some texture. The flower is from the Uniko Pure Florals Chrysanthemum set.

Edit:
I've sat looking at my card and there was something I just did not like about it - there was too much white. I like white space but I think this has a tad to much so I gave my card a haircut and it is now square and I feel much happier!

I'm entering the following challenges:
"Less is More" #278

Addicted to CAS #89

Enjoy!

  1. This is really beautiful Elaine. Your DI colouring is fantastic and I love how you've mirrored the chrysanthemum onto the card base to carry the image through. Great job!

  3. Elaine you rock this set from Uniko every time. Another fantastic showcase of it and love how you've embossed the bloom to create your diagonal BG in line with the sketch. Awesome colour and take on the challange and thanks for playing along at Less is More this week. Sarah

  6. Okay, Elaine, first of all, that bloom, the coloring, and the embossing are out of this world!! I agree with you that there really can't be too much white, but then, seeing your shortened version, I'm like, yeah, I have to admit, I like it better. Maybe moving the bloom up higher on the original would have worked too? Either way, I think it is STAHHHHHHNING!! Hugs, Darnell

  8. You sure do get great use out of your stamps, Elaine. Another stunner using this bloom and I love the idea of creating the background with the same image, super clever.
