Bloomtangled Twofer ...

Good evening ... quick post this evening to share two cards created using one die but two designs ...

If you have seen my earlier post featuring the Bloomtangled Cover Plate dies you will immediately see the difference that can be achieved just by changing the colour choices ... my earlier cards (here) were bright and used rainbow colours - these are far more subtle!!

I took three shades of pink and two of green card, stamped and white heat embossed them before cutting with the die.  I also die cut one from cream card and then set about the marathon task of paper piecing them back together!!  I love paper piecing I find it a relaxing activity but on this scale it is not something for the faint-hearted to do but the effect is well worth it (I think!).  I layered it onto kraft card and finally added a sentiment.

This one is far more simply and came together very quickly!  I trimmed the bottom from the die cut adhered it flat to a piece of cream card added the sentiment before adding it to the card base.

I used:
STAMPlorations - Bloomtangled #1 Cover Plate Die (if you decide to treat yourself to one of these dies you can get 20% off by using the following code STAMPGIRLELAINE)
Dark Room Door - Crackle Background Stamp
Stampin Up - Off The Grid Stamp
WOW White Embossing Powder

The reason for two cards in one post?  I'm joining in with the Twofer Card Challenge

As I used STAMPloration products I'm going to link up with this challenge:

Enjoy!

  2. Aaah, I think I'm going to have to get that cover plate because I just love your designs with it, Elaine! I, too, love puzzling paper pieces into card designs, so I really appreciate the herculean task that first card was! It's brilliant! But as much as I love it, I have to say I love the second one just a smidge more. The coloring and texture and how you cut the cover plate are all so beautiful and perfect for a sympathy card! Thank you so much for playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge #3!! Hugs, Darnell

  4. Goodness, that's such a lovely cover plate, Elaine ... and what a fabulous twofer! The precision in inlaying all those individual pieces into your first card is incredible ... and the delicate, trimmed die cut on your sympathy card is beautiful ... serene and calm and perfect for the occasion! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)

  5. Love that cover plate Elaine. And it's amazing how different your designs look. Love the first one with all that paper piecing ... lots of patience required! :) But worth the effort to have this gorgeous card as a result. The second card is also beautiful. Adding the die-cut from pattern paper just adds something special with the design. Thanks for playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge.

  6. This cover plate is already on my wish list and your cards are very inspirational! Love how you stamped and embossed some patterns on the paper! I admire your patience in putting all the pieces back but the result is stunning! The partial use of the cover plate for the sympathy card is beautiful!

  7. My word, these jumped out at me from the Linkz at the twofer site, just love the batik effect you achieved with the white embossing, and yep...repeat what Susanne said for the sympathy card!
