Mostly Leaves ...

Good evening ... I hope that you've all had a creative weekend ... it's been tipping it down with rain all day ... so no chance to do the gardening but rain never stops the creative process!!!  So I have spent the day creating ... first up:

Two cards, one stamp set, two designs and two occasions!

I masked the central section and then created the background by painting water colours on to acetate before smooshing it on to the card panel ... I tried the panel between colours and also added some splatters. I stamped and heat embossed the outline leaves then die cut 'Happy' out of the panel and three scrap pieces of card, I stacked and adhered the letters together and placed them back in the panel. I finished the card by adding a 'birthday' die cut.

I'm entering this card into the Addicted to CAS challenge:

I began by stamping and heat embossing the leaves onto some water colour card.  I coloured them with water colours before fussy cutting them out.  I adhered them using foam tape to add dimension and movement.  I die cut the sentiment and adhered the panel to a card base.

I'm entering this card in this month's CAS Watercolour Card Challenge:

I used:

STAMPlorations: The Bees Knees - Layered Leaves
                            CUTplorations - Thanks die
WOW Embossing Powder - Gold and Black
Die Namics - High Rise Alphabet

I'm entering both of the cards in this month's Twofer Card Challenge:

Enjoy!

  1. I love your leaves both ways, Elaine! The row of leaves with the cutout out makes a festive birthday card! I love how you've cut the fall colored leaves and made a wreath! Very nice! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!

  3. Fantastic designs Elaine! Each one is so unique from the other that at first glance, it doesn't look like the same image. But yes, there are those awesome leaves! :) Love the first card with the green smooshed colours and hidden sentiment. The second card with the beautiful autumn wreath is so pretty and sweet on the kraft background. Great work! Thanks for playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge and CAS Watercolour!

  6. Beautiful and artistic twofer, Elaine! I love the dramatic look of the strip of smooshing, splatter, and stamping, with the "happy" hiding out in there! Your wreath of fall leaves is splendid in the bright yellows and oranges that pop out on the kraft background! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!

  7. These cards rock, Elaine! That is the best job of camouflaging a word that I've ever seen! I even had trouble seeing it in the closeup photos! Well done! I love the colors and splatters you used, too! And your second design is a perfectly balanced and beautifully colored thank you card! It would be gorgeous as a table-top decoration!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #10! Hugs, Darnell

  9. The unstructured smooshiness and colouring on both cards is fabulous with the sketchy leaf image, Elaine! The metallic embossing on the first has a lovely subtle shine ... and I love the camouflaged sentiment! Your wreath is wonderfully dimensional ... the splatters add such a great sense of texture! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)

  11. Goodness, I am so loving both of these cards. Well done on making two cards from one stamp. I love how you "hid" the "happy" word in your leaves, always fun to do that technique I think! And I am so loving your wreath made from your leaves, they look so beautiful watercolored up. Thanks for joining the Oct. CAS Watercolour challenge!! Hugs, Brenda
