AAA Cards ... Made in Minutes

Good morning ... as another month comes to an end it is time for a new challenge at AAA Cards.  The challenge this time is to create a CAS card with the following theme:

The challenge is about creating a card in the shortest time possible - under 15 minutes would be great, but no more than 30 minutes - so gather up your supplies, set the timer and get creating!!

I've actually created two cards - same design different colours.  The first card took me about 10 minutes to create but it will be no surprise that the second one took less than 5 minutes!!

It is difficult to see from the photograph but the cream stripes have been dry embossed to add texture and interest.  I began by embossing a piece of cream card before cutting it up and adding it to the front of the card.  I die cut two stars and added them to the cross over with some foam tape for more dimension.  The sentiment was stamped using ink to match the card base before being attached with foam tape.  Having completed the first card I decided to create the second one with the left over cream card.  I'm quite pleased with the results as I rarely create cards with a coloured base - I also like to find a design that is simple enough to be re-created quickly when time is short!

I used:
Sizzix Nesting Star dies
Embossalicious Embossing Folder
Stampin Up Bermuda Bay Ink
                    Baked Brown Sugar Ink

I do hope that you will join in with the challenge and see how quickly you can create a beautiful CAS card!

Enjoy!

AAA Cards ... Use one corner

Good Morning ... time for the start of a new challenge at AAACards and I'm here to inspire you to get out your crafty supplies and join in.

Keeping your design in one corner is a great way to keep your card Clean and Simple (CAS).  This is my take on the theme without the optional twist.

I used a corner die to cut a section out of the front panel and added a scrap of gelli printed card behind the opening.  I added the panel to the card base using foam tape for added dimension.  Stamped and heat embossed the sentiment before adding it to the card using some more foam adhesive.

I used:
Tim Holtz Mixed Media #2 die (661185)
Acrylic paints and stencils for the gelli print
Wow Gold Embossing powder.

I hope I have inspired you to join in with the challenge - if you need more inspiration then check out the blog and see the amazing designs from the rest of the Design Team.  Please remember to keep your design Clean and Simple (CAS).

Enjoy!

STAMPlorations CUTplorations February Challenge Reminder ...

Have you joined in with this month's CUTploration challenge?  If not, don't worry you still have time - this is the inspiration for the challenge:

My second project uses many of the resources that I used in my first post but this time I've created a tag rather than a card - hopefully I have shown the versatility of the dies.

I started by die cutting a tag from a piece of gelli printed card, I also die cut all of the other elements from other gelli prints.  I arranged the flowers - adding some with foam adhesive to add dimension.  The 'love' and the 'clustered hearts' were die cut additional times and adhered together to create thicker elements.

I used:
STAMPlorations - Manilla Tag Builder
                           - Clustered Hearts
                           - Love Words
                           - Trendy Spring Blooms

I hope you will be inspired to join in with the challenge.

Enjoy!

AAA Cards ... One Layer

Whoosh ... that's January gone!  Who knew a month could pass so quickly! I hope you've had a good start to the year and that your New Year's resolutions are going well!

It's time for a new challenge at AAA Cards ... this time the theme and twist is:

As always we are looking for CAS (Clean and Simple) cards based on the theme.

I've created a one layer card reflecting the optional twist of love.

I masked the heart area and then stamped and heat embossed the floral images before using distress inks to water colour the images.  I added the sentiment and a light 'shadow' around the heart, chomped the corners and that is it ... finished.

I used:
Sizzix Nesting Heart dies
STAMPlorations -Bloom Doodles Stamp set
Distress Inks - Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint, Tumbled glass.

I hope you will be inspired to join in with the challenge - whether you twist or not, remember keep it CAS!

Enjoy!

Navy and Yellow ...

A quick post with you this evening to share this card that was inspired by a couple of challenges:

A simple card with a simple design - just a few die cuts and one sentiment stamp.  The dandelions were die cut out of yellow card four times before I adhered them together to add more dimension.  I cut a strip off the front of the card and stamped the sentiment on the inside.

I used:
Sue Wilson Dandelion Posies die
Robert Addams Trellis die
Simon Says Stamp Handwritten borders
Stampin Up - Not Quite Navy ink

I'm entering the following challenges:

"Less is More" #388
The team at LIM are celebrating the 8th birthday of the challenge - congratulations to all of the design team past and present.  This was one of the very first challenges that I entered on a regular basis when I first started blogging - it's a great place to see inspiring CAS cards.  Happy Birthday!

Turner Syndrome Blog Hop ...

Turner Syndrome is a genetic disorder where a female is born with only one X chromosome, instead of two, leaving her with life-long medical issues and learning disabilities. This condition occurs one in 2,500 female births worldwide, but is more common among pregnancies that do not survive to full term. That is why Turner Syndrome Females are considered MIRACLES!

Nineteen caring Sponsors and eleven DT Members have partnered with us to bring Turner Syndrome Awareness to the Public. For details on how you might win any of these fabulous prizes, please see Lori's TS home page. Thanks for learning About Turner Syndrome

My project uses a few colours from the TS official colour board:

I'm delighted to be involved with this blog hop raising awareness of Turner Syndrome - it is not something I knew anything about until Shery (from STAMPlorations) asked me to join in with the hop.  This is my project using one of the fabulous new stamp sets by Shery Russ at STAMPlorations - "It's a Girl Thing:Sunshine".

A clean and simple design.

Remember to visit the "It's A Girl Thing" Turner Syndrome Awareness Inaugural Blog Hop page to find links to the other hoppers as long with details of how to get involved and be eligible for prizes.
