I started this card yesterday - it involved lots of heat embossing to mask off images and lots of ink blending and loads of time just being patient and waiting for ink to dry!!
I inked the panel with Picked Raspberry then heat embossed the first flower, then inked the panel with Festive Berries then stamped and embossed two more flowers. I then inked the panel with Dusty Concord then stamped and embossed more flowers and finally inked the panel with Stampin Up's Blackberry Bliss. I ironed the panel to remove the embossing and then stamped the flowers details, masking off the flowers as I went. The flower is from the Uniko Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum stamp set.
I am entering the following challenges:
"Less is More" - Week 235, Colour Challenge - Berry Shades
Happy Little Stampers
Enjoy!
This is the other card I created today, in fact it is the first card I created. I'd been thinking about the design for sometime - I had trouble with the colouring, trouble with the stamping, the die cutting didn't want to work for me but in the end I was happy with the card. Water colouring and inlaid dies are two of my favourite techniques ... and then disaster struck:
... and the moral of the story ... put completed cards somewhere safe and never leave black ink pads open on your desk!!
Elaine. LOVE the deep saturated colours of your first card ... so stunning! So sorry what happened to the other. It has happened to all of us. I hear you about every step being difficult. But you pushed through and make a beautiful card, only to be visited by Murphy. Hopefully you can salvage the beautiful flower on the left and make another card with it. Thanks for playing along at Happy Little Stampers.
ReplyDeleteLoving your both your LIM cards - such great designs and colours. It's so annoying but I'm sure we've all dropped an ink pad or two. You could always clear emboss the flowers and then blacken the background! Elaine x
ReplyDeleteWow, the depth of colour you've achieved on your first card is amazing, and great masking too. And yes, as Loll says, disaster has happened to all of us. I'm so guilty of just putting my completed cards on my table along with stash that's not been put away so I'm all too familiar with bits and pieces that add themselves to your cards! I'm sure you can salvage and re-use part of it, we never throw anything away! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for playing along to Less is More and Happy Little Stampers, Anita x
You have every right to be happy with how it turned out in the end Elaine! The end result is simply fabulous! Great work! TFS. Have a lovely day! Hazel xx
ReplyDeleteAwww bless you Elaine! Although your initial card went pear-shaped (happens to me all the time) I'm quite pleased you ended up doing the other one as it is absolutely F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! How you managed to achieve such depth of inking I do not know. I'm literally swooning over it and can't stop looking at it. Wonderful work, love your use of Uniko stamps always and a brilliant berry shade card.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing and taking part.
Sarah xx

Oh, my, are you sure you weren't channeling me when you drop the inkpad? I've done that soooo many times! :) Your flowers on the second take are so eye-catching--pops right out at you.

Wow! The colours of your first card & techniques is amazing & well done on have the patience, it's something I often lack when it comes to being creative. Your second card is a beauty too and I think I can safely say it probably has happened to all of us! Great showcase of the Chrysanthemum stamps and dies :) Hugs Bev x

"Less is More"
Oh, I could weep, Elaine!! I've done that too many times and each time I say to myself, "I'm too stupid to work here!" But your beautiful flowers look like they are popped on, so if you popped them off and switched them right over left, wouldn't they still be perfection? Your second card simply defies words, except to say: genius!! Enjoy your day! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteSo glad you stuck with it Elaine .... the finished result is stunning! I know exactly what you mean about putting finished cards out of the way .... been there, many times!!! Thanks for playing along at Happy Little Stampers ........ Linda xx

ReplyDeleteWow I did knew that this was an outcome of an accident :) you did a stunning job of saving it ! Love this beauty :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful is what can resulted from a "blurp". The first card technique I'm having a hard time picturing how it was done in my mind and would love a video but honestly wouldn't want you to put yourself through that again. LOL It is gorgeous! So is your second card.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning Less is More, I saw this card on their winning post and had to pop by and say wow and wow, it is a stunner xx
