If you follow my blog you will know of my obsession with gelli plate printing ... both of my cards use a gelli print and two coordinating butterfly dies.
Apologies for the fly in the top right corner ... it is not part of the design!! |
For this card I die cut the solid butterfly out of the card and then inlaid a butterfly cut from a gelli print into the opening. Finally I die cut the coordinating intricate butterfly and attached it by the body leaving the wings free to add dimension.
The fly was camera shy by the time I took this photograph! |
I used:
STAMPlorations - CUTplorations Flutter Zen 1
Simon Says Stamp - Handwritten Borders
UNIKO - Simply Said

Enjoy!
It's certainly understandable that the fly was attracted to your beautiful card! Those wings are so detailed and look gorgeous in the gelli plate paper and in vellum over the paper. I love the CAS design of your first card, but I also think the floating butterflies were so worth the fuss! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!
ReplyDeleteCASlicious perfection with these designs, Elaine! Your single butterfly and the font on that sediment are minimal, but extremely impactful! And then your fiddly design ~ wow, it took my breath away! It was definitely worth whatever trouble it was to create!! Really stunning creations and colors! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #5!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteWow, these are just beautiful butterflies. I love how you did the second card with the cut out.
ReplyDeleteWOW, I'm totally swooning over the two cards ! So beautiful designs and so striking ! And those colours....hummmm....totally my cup of tea ! Can image the work for the second one but it really worth it, the result is so stunning ! Fabulous. x
ReplyDeleteThat solo butterfly really makes a beautiful statement, Elaine ... and I love the floating die cuts on your second card ... the design really adds to the delicate, dreamy nature of these lovely creatures! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)
