AAA Cards Masking ...

it's time for a new challenge at AAA Cards - this time it is all about masking.

The challenge is sponsored by STAMPlorations (thank you Shery) and I'm delighted to have created a card using one of their beautiful stamp sets.  The challenge theme is also right up my alley as I love masking techniques - from blocking areas to ink blend, to masking stamped images for multiple stamping and lots more.

Firstly I stamped the column of butterflies masking as I went as I needed them to overlap for the look that I was hoping to achieve.  When the ink was dry (this is critical if you are going to fussy cut between the images ... I wonder how I worked this out!!!) I then fussy cut around and between the butterflies.  Finally I added the sentiment to the inside of the card.

I used:
STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies
Simon Says Stamp Handwritten borders
Stampin Up Inks - Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Not Quite Navy

I hope that I've inspired you to join in with the challenge ... it is well worth popping along to the blog for further inspiration from the design team.

Enjoy!

  1. Great masking and some detailed fussy cutting, looks amazing! Think I might have learnt the same lesson as you from being too keen with wet inks!
