TIME OUT Guest Design ...

One of the joys of winning a challenge is being invited to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge ... and that's exactly why I am here as Guest Designer for the new challenge at TIME OUT Challenges.  Let's begin with the theme:

Autumn with the optional twist of speed stamping

The definition of speed stamping for this challenge is "...making a card in 10 minutes or less excluding getting your supplies ready".  When I started to think about the challenge I really thought that the time limit was a challenge too far ... once I decided what I was going to do I thought I would give it a go!  So everything ready for the off and the timer set on my phone ... this is my card ...

... 8 minutes and 45 seconds later I had a card that I was happy with ... then I decided to tie the twine into a bow ... and believe it or not that took another five minutes!!! Why didn't I just leave it threaded through ... so I leave it to you to decide whether I made a card in less than 10 minutes or not!!!

I used:
Stampin Up - Totally Trees
UNIKO - Simply Said
Distress Inks - Ground Espresso' Mustard Seed, Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin.
WOW Embossing Powder

I hope you will be inspired to join in with the challenge ... you need to visit the challenge and see the amazing cards the design team have created.

Enjoy!

  1. How annoying that last 5 mins for the twine. Still it would have taken me much longer than that to tie a bow! I really love the colouring here and adding the kraft was inspired. Also using the leaves around the sentiment is the perfect touch. Great to have you as GD x

  2. Just lovely, Elaine ... gorgeous colours, delicious white space, and I love the touch of tumbled leaves around the sentiment! Your twine tied double bow ... five minutes seems quick to me ... I'd have been there for days! Thanks so much for Guest Designing with us at Time Out! Anita :)

  3. Lovely card Elaine and whether or not it took a little more than 10 mins....I can't make a card in under an hour! so you are a winner in my book. Great idea and the fallen leaves just add to it;s professionalism!

  4. Fabulous card, the bow tying time doesn't count, it was purely the fault of the twine misbehaving and not user error!

  5. Hello Elaine! It's wonderful having you Guest Design with us at Time Out. Welcome! This is a wonderful card. I love the kraft peeking out from beneath the tag and the two pieces of twine you used for the bow (bows always add an extra hour to my projects - you did great!) through the shiny brass grommet. Love the tree image and the tiny leaves on either side of the sentiment. Simple, lovely, classy, autumn-y. I just love it!

  6. Oh, that did make me chuckle, Elaine! Isn't that just the way! I blame it on the twine. You can't tell by looking at it, but I have found over the years that some of that twine is juvenile delinquents and you really have to spend some time one-on-one to make them simmer down and behave! So, yes, you did it!! And I LOVE your card design!! Congratulations on being the Guest Designer and on the original win!! Hugs, Darnell

  7. This is fantastic, and I just love this card. You got so much closer to the time limit than I did, so I say 'well done'. And, I just remembered that I have that set, and it must see some ink very soon. Thanks so much for being our Guest Designer at Time Out.
